Hello

Hope you’ve had a great week.
The weather looks to be improving and we’ve got a load of new UK veg too!

Next week you can expect new potatoes, new carrots, summer greens and new bunched carrots, a sure sign that we are heading into the UK growing season. (Have just heard the carrots aren't ready yet so we'll be sticking with Italian).

As this is a supply and demand game, all of these items remain pretty high in price as there still aren't many of them available. That means your boxes will be lighter over the coming weeks until prices begin to fall.

The new maris peer potatoes are around double the price of the potatoes we’ve had for the last month or so. One week ago they were double that price again, although I’m not holding my breath that the trend of falling prices will continue as quickly as that!

Portion sizes across the different sized boxes of these new potatoes will range from 500g up to 1kg vs 700g up to 1.2kg which is generally the norm within my boxes!

Elsewhere from the UK we’ve got more Yorkshire grown broccoli from Doncaster, the aforementioned summer greens from Fadmoor in North Yorkshire and more excellent mini plum tomatoes from The Tomato Stall on the Isle of Wight.

Passion4Plants have their last two tomato plants for sale.

From Europe there is lots more colour again, with yellow courgettes (TBC, now maybe round/green) from France, mini tri-colour sweet bite peppers and butternut squash, both from Spain.

There are three herbs available next week, coriander (Lancashire), parsley and basil (both French).

Fruit next week includes flat peaches, apricots, bananas, yellow nectarines and two types of French apples, golden and juliet.

Have a great weekend!
Thanks
Sam
